In this interactive professional learning session, educators will explore how GLAD® (Guided Language Acquisition Design) strategies, specifically the Cognitive Content Dictionary and Chants & Poetry, can be used to enhance students' vocabulary skills. Participants will engage in hands-on learning to understand how the Cognitive Content Dictionary helps students build strong academic language by connecting new vocabulary with conceptual knowledge, while Chants & Poetry serve as engaging tools to reinforce word patterns, rhythm, and meaning. Teachers will leave with practical strategies and resources to implement these powerful techniques in the classroom, supporting vocabulary acquisition and language development for all students, especially English learners, in a fun and meaningful way. 

We are learning to engage students in vocabulary instruction that provides opportunities for using words in speaking and writing so that students can demonstrate true ownership of new words in Tier 1 literacy content.
