In this interactive professional learning session, educators will explore how GLAD® (Guided Language Acquisition Design) strategies, specifically the Cognitive Content Dictionary and Chants & Poetry, can be used to enhance students' vocabulary skills. Participants will engage in hands-on learning to understand how the Cognitive Content Dictionary helps students build strong academic language by connecting new vocabulary with conceptual knowledge, while Chants & Poetry serve as engaging tools to reinforce word patterns, rhythm, and meaning. Teachers will leave with practical strategies and resources to implement these powerful techniques in the classroom, supporting vocabulary acquisition and language development for all students, especially English learners, in a fun and meaningful way.
